Create a Display
A tri-fold poster is the most common way to display your project. Tri-fold boards and other display materials can be purchased at many local stores, including Michael's, A.C. Moore, and Walmart. Be sure to include the following items on your display:
Title - Be creative to grab everyone's attention!
Purpose/Question
Hypothesis
Background Information (if appropriate)
Materials
Procedure - list steps, variables and constants
Photos with Captions
Results - Data Tables and Graphs
Conclusion
You may also place other objects on the table in front of your display such as your lab notebook or equipment you used. Do NOT include liquids, breakable materials or moldy items.
Display Tips:
Keep lettering neat and a dark color like black or blue.
Frame your work with a complimentary color.
Lay out your papers before you glue and space them evenly.
Use a ruler to keep it straight.
Type or print very neatly.
No Cross Outs. Erase Neatly.
Fill empty space with drawings or clip art, but do not clutter.
Use a larger font for titles.
Each section should be titled.
Too much color can be overwhelming. Keep it simple and attractive.
Use photos (with you in them) to document your experiment. Ask your parent to be your photographer.
